WOYWW, 18 August 2010

Good morning Everybody!

Why is everybody so early??? Or am I just late??? Oh well.... I promised I would be very short today and I promise I will be! I have been doing a lot of housework so my crafting was set to the side - I am working on a card for my daughters boyfriend but to be honest I don't know where I am going with it! I started off with this brilliant idea using some lovely mainly brown papers with a bit of gold but I am not sure about it now - of course I managed to make a really big mess in my craftroom as always...Believe me I can tidy up but when you go from one card to another it does pile up so you end up with 10 cm space....have a snoop then! You still haven't heard about this crazy thing called WOYWW????? Well pay a visit to the Queen of Snoop Julia at Stamping Ground and you will soon find out!
So here is my messy desk from all angles........this is how I started out - not bad - pretty tidy....

Turn to the right - all the papers I have used and lots more stuff....

Turn to the right  - more mess....on top of that pile there is the card - memory thinge for my daughter which she still hasn't seen ( cause she doesn't have time to come see mommy!! ) so I can't really show it yet ...

and it all ended up like this.....

See I told you - only about 10 cm space left! Huh!!! Got all the boxes and reels with ribbon down to find the perfect one but now I am thinking I won't use it....
Ok I said I would be short today - just one more thing....as I blogged yesterday I will be at the autumn craft show at Ally Pally ( on the Saturday)- coming all the way from Slovenia! So if some of you girls will be there let me know I will put a big sign on with CARDARIAN written on it so you can spot me, ha, ha....not that you will have a problem spotting me as I am quite big!
Ok, Ok I am off now....
Have a lovely day and a great snoop!
Lots of hugs to all of you

A card and good news!

Hi Girls and Boy! (He, he I think the only boy around is Sid so he gets an honorable mention!)

How have ya all been??? Did you have a nice weekend??? Busy crafting??? Well I had a busy weekend but not so much with crafting! Friday my daughter and her boyfriend came round for dinner, Saturday I took my friend from Australia to her relatives that live near my mom and she will be staying there for a while! I stayed at my moms over the weekend! It was a nice and quiet visit! We chatted and cooked and chatted more! Sunday afternoon I returned to Ljubljana and finished my daughters card well it isn't really a card it is like a scrapbook going down memory lane thing - she was 25 as you all know so I wanted to make something special! I will not blog it till after she sees it! The other card I made is for a student that works in the library and it was her birthday a few days ago! She is coming to the library today so she is getting her card! I used Card Patters sketch!

I used Paperartsy Hotpick 1006 stamps - 3 stamps from the whole set! Punched out the flowers, buttons from stash, twill Rayher, sentiment computer generated! Lots of TH inks, Shabby shutters, Tea dye and Spun sugar ( I think) and also some memento dew drops. DP is DCWV.
So there that is my card for today! Oh yes the very good news! I am going to the Craft show at Ally Pally! I already have the plane ticket and the ticket for the show so I hope that I will be meeting some of you there!
Today I have lots of work to do - clean the house and get ready for my next guests! Busy, busy, busy!

Lots of hugs, have a lovely day!

Hello my dear snoopy friends!

So sorry I haven't been blogging lately but I am a bit busy these days. I have a lovely friend from Australia visiting, it was my daughters birthday on Saturday and well my boss is on holiday for 2 weeks so I am working 2 libraries! And as you know I am over 50 so juggling all this is not exactly easy ha, ha.....
Anyway I will be honest with you not much is going on on my desk at the moment but I do have a few photos to fullfill your need for snooping! It will be a long blog but I won't be writing much - just showing photos otherwise I will take up too much of your precious time - time you should be spending snooping around other desks!
So lets start with my daughters birthday and the cake I baked - it is a chocolate orange cake - it is a family secret so don't ask me for the recipe, I can only pass it on to my daughter!
My baby was 25!!!!!! Where did all those years go??? It seemed I just brought her home from the hospital!

My friend Annette from Australia did the fancy icing......

My daughter admiring her cake....

My daughter with her boyfriend....

Blowing the candles and cutting the cake.....

A hug for mummy......

A hug for my friend Annette......

The lovely quilt I got from my friend ....it is a Christmas table cloth.....I just love it - she has done a beautiful job - you girls out there that do quilting will agree with me....

And at last a card I made for my friend as it was her nameday too....

I will blog my daughters birthday card later in the day - I think you have more then enough snooping material at the moment ha, ha....Sorry if the post is so long, I promise I will be very short next time! I just had to show off a few things ha, ha

WOYWW, 4th August 2010

Good morning dear friends!

Ready for another snoop at Queen Julias castle??? Well lets se what you all have on your messy or tidy desks!
As for me - I am the messy one today! I was doing a card last night for my friend (strangely July and August are very busy for me, all the birthdays and name days and whatever other days there are to celebrate of my relatives and friends,  seem to be crammed into these 2 months)  and as I bought some new mesh I wanted to use it on the card no matter what!!! How stupid am I ??  It didn't work out very well and as usuall I made a mess of my desk so when  I needed to cut some paper this morning I had to go to the kitchen table to do it! It was quite dark this morning as we had rain all night and it was cloudy so I am not sure the photos will be ok but anyway have a snoop!
Here is the middle of the desk.....

A pile of various papers - I couldn't decide what I want, then there is this paper I use when I distress - varios colors on it! Glue, punch, glasses ( I can't do anything without them these days - my eyes are really bad!) the famous mesh and a piece of paper where I printed out the happy birthday in varios fonts and on top of the papers the card...
Swing to the right.....not a very good photo....

More papers and my bag of foams - I use them instead of those fancy blending tools - they work ok - I write the name of the ink I use on the foam so they don't get mixed up!
Swing to the left..... the usual junk with a  box of sweeties - I better stop buying those, but it is so nice to be crafting and munching on some sweets - YUMM!

And here is the card I made.....

I am not sure if I like it - I feel like something is missing! Or maybe there is too much on it ....I don't know....

And just to add something to yesterdays post about my flowers yes Anne (Liverpool Lou) you were right the plant I couldn't remember was Hosta and here is a photo I took of them right after the rain so there are all rain drops on it - lovely flowers though!

Have a lovely day, have a lovely snoop and I will be coming round to see what ya got!
Hugs to all of you,
Cardarian

My flowers!

Hi Everbody!

I promised I would show off my flowers! We had a big heat wave and they were really poor back then but now that the temperatures have gone down a bit they seem to have started to grow and bloom! As you all know by now I don't have a garden as such just two terraces and big how should I say concrete boxes where I can have a sort of garden! I also I have a lot of flowers in pots on the floor of the terrace....
Here are my pots......

I like them to be all different colors - no matching in my house ha, ha.....
This year I am really happy my dahlias have come out really nice......

And here you can see them from the other side, also at the bottom of the picture there are some red flowers we call "night ladies" as they open their flowers when it gets dark! You can see the buds are all closed during the day....

Here are my cinias ( I don't know the word in English - too lazy to look it up in the dictionary ha, ha but I am sure you ladies will recognize them!)

Here is a flower we call the Vanilla flower - the color is really intense but the scent of Vanilla is unbelivable!
It doesn't look very well but there are lots of new shoots so I keep fertilizing it!

And this is a picture of the flowers on my smaller terrace (Sun Fuschias, Geraniums and those big green leaves that have big white flowers - I can't remember what they are called! Also right in the front you can see Hermelica!)...... you can also see my dahlias on the big terrace!

So there, thought I would show you what I wake up before 6am every morning to water every day! I guess it is worth it!
Have a lovely day!
Hugs to all of you,
Cardarian

P.S. Have you noticed on the picture with the vanilla flower there is a little butterfly that looks like a colibri bird? Have a good look!

Fancy and fussy Stampotique!

Hiya!

I think this will be my last post of cards today - I made some lovely photos of my flowers but I will post them later!
Anyways onto my card....I want to enter this card for the Stampotique Designers Challenge! I love Stampotique stamps although I only have 3 at the moment! Anytime I decide to buy one of them they are sold out! But I am hoping to make my collection bigger soon! My daughter gave me the stamp I am using on the card for my birthday! It is from the designer Daniel Torrente.
I used the combination of pink and black so this card also fits the Fussy and Fancy challenge....
Here is my card.......
I used Rayher paper and Ek success punches!

Thats all folks, see ya all later!
Hugs to all of you,
Cardarian

A present and Card Patterns challenge

Hiya!

Here I am again! Well this card was actually made yesterday! My daughter's boyfriends mom celebrated her birthday and my daughter asked me to make a card, when she came over she also wanted me to wrap the present, so I did both! I made it to suit the Card Patterns sketch! I like their sketches so I participate in their challenges quite often!
Here is the card....

I used DCWV paper the Cafe Mediterranean stack, stamps are both Hero Arts, Punch EK Success, Ribbon Stampin' Up, button from stash, TH distress inks Spiced Marmelade and Shabby Shutters, the sentiment is computer generated...
And here is the matching couple.....

See ya!

Hugs,

Cardarian

A birthday card with gingham

Hello again!

I think I will say hello a few times today! My daughter just came round for a short visit so I had a bit of a chat with her. She brought me a load of vegetables from her boyfriends mom's garden! So I guess I will be eating a lot of veggies this week!
Going back to cards I made this card for the birthday of my friends daughter! I will enter it into the Die cut dreams challenge where they want gingham....
This card did take me about 2 hours to make - not that it is so complicated but because of the distressing of all these bits and pieces! Also I have realised that I like to make my own flowers - I mean the ready made ones are fine but I think you can match the colors much better if you make your own and well I don't know for me it is just much more satisfying!
So here is the card......

I used Cuddly Buddly papers, punched out the flowers, perles from stash, a bit of ice stickles to make the flowers shine and Rayher ribbon.... I made a double bow with the Bow Easy - very easy! Oh yes the stamp is Hero arts Scattered leaves....Oh yes and  I used the TH Dusty concord ink!
I think that is all folks.....but I have more so stay tuned!
Hugs,
Cardarian

Papertake weekly and a day off

Hello Everybody!

I am at home today - I took a day off because I haven't slept all night and just couldn't get out of bed this morning! I know it sounds like a waist of a day off but I was thinking at my age I am not really going to worry about having a day off  if I don't feel well!
Soo now I have had a bit of rest, although I am still not 100% but because I had all night to think ( I guess there is one good thing about it) I got a lot of ideas for making cards and I was on the go this morning!
I will start with my contribution to the Papertake weekly challenge! This card follows their sketch ....

I used Rayher paper and DCWV , stamp is Hero arts, butterfly is MS punch, the other punch is EK success, a bit of distressing with Stampin' Up Melon Mambo and there we are - done!
Will be back with more - as said I am on the go!

Hugs,
Cardarian
