WOYWW, A few bits!

Hello my dear bloggy friends!

Another 2 weeks have passed and you haven't heard from me - I guess my life is just so busy I just can't get up to proper blogging! I am very sorry to dissapoint my lovely followers but I am sure things will get back to normal! I have been making cards and stuff but I am not really in the proper "arty" mood! It is very hot these days - we had 36 - 38 deg C all last week! There was a stormy night yesterday so a bit of a relief but not for long - we are back in the 30s today! Anyway here is my desk and a few things I have made in the last 2 weeks!....
First up my desk......quite tidy - the reason is I have tidyed up to start a new project and that didn't happen - I was suppose to Skype with my dear friend Donna ( and start the project) but she never appeared online so I didn't do anything, what you can see is a  journal page which I have made recently.....

It is just paint, washi tape and lots of stamps - no stenciling! It is all the rage now - it seems every designer is making stencils! I am surprised people didn't think of them before! I can't get myself to do a lot of stenciling - maybe it is too messy for me or I just think that once you go really big with these stencils the stamping gets 2nd place and what did I buy all those lovely stamps for????? Well I guess I shouldn't be too critical - they are excellent for layering! Maybe I will start liking them who knows???
Next I have a few cards that I have made for sad occasions - recently we had a few deaths - not my relatives - just people I have been friends with for years and also others - so I have made a few Sympathy cards....

Now to happier cards....it was my daughters name day Friday ( Saint Anna) so she got a bit of a more happy and modern card - she wants me to do more "less is more" cards so I made an effort....

I used a few of the new Hero arts stamps but also I just "stamped" some distress stains! I quite like the card - funky! Oh and by the way - all you Annes, Annies, Annas - happy belated name day!!!
And as last on Monday it was my moms name day - her name is Martha - which is a name that has practically disappeared ....I made a card for her that is more a classical card and I sent it off and she was very happy - here is what I made....

I used one of the new Crafty Individuals stamps - ha - I used a Prima stencil....TH DI for the background, lace and some old paper from a magazine that was thrown out of our library! I colored the stamp with Derwent Inktense Pencils - I LOVE THEM!!!! Amazing colors, they blend and are probably one of the best of my recent investments! Oh yes after coloring the whole lot I used various Stickles to give it a bit of a sparkle!
So that is all I have made - I hope you enjoy the snoop and I will get around to visit too! Have a lovely week and I hope to see you soon!
Lots of hugs to all of you,
CARDARIAN

  5. You make me laugh :) You always say something like "a few bits" and it's always a whole lot more. Love the Distress stain splotches card. Mine never look as good as that :)

    Happy WOYWW!

  6. A lovely selection Cardarian. I have bought a lot of stencils but don't use them that much - need to do some more inly stuff and maybe I'll find a use for them! Haven't been crafting a lot myself in the hot weather - well I'd rather be in the garden anyway - but it is cooler today so I am trying to get a few things done. Lovely to 'see' you. 8. I love your journal Dolores! I know it has got Steampunk elements in it but it looks very Egyptian to me...I think it's the blues and golds, and the pen nib pattern just looks like the ones you get around papyruses! I know, I'm weird... :-)
And you can keep 38 C....I would just melt..... I think I must have been a Viking in a previous life...I prefer the cold!

  9. Such lovely cards you have there! Is that Hydrandgea stamp Anna Griffin? I love it! Hope your daughter enjoys her card and her name day. I am not familiar with that, wonder if all names have a day, or is it Saints names? Fun idea! I love your journal page,I haven't yet started one, have one, but can't seem to get started on it! 11. Well done on the great journal page and the lovely cards in all that heat, thought we had it bad in the UK but not that bad - think I would go into meltdown with that much heat.

  13. What a fab set of cards you've been making....think this heat makes us all feel the same. It's so hard to feel creative....we should be sat by a pool sipping cool drinks this weather :-)

  16. Well you have certainly been very busy. You have made some lovely cards. I have never got into art journalling, but I do have quite a few stencils that are very under-used! Kate x #18

  17. Wow you have had a wonderfully creative week, I especially love your beautiful sympathy cards, which are often so hard to do. I own a few stencils but they will never take over from my stamps which are my biggest crafting weakness. Have a great week and Happy WOYWW! Danie #25

I'm sooo late this week as mr linky wasn't there first thing, time I got back it's almost next week. ( Time goes so fast, I'm sure there's two Wednesdays in the week!) Happy WOYWW

  19. I think the heat and humidity makes it hard to be creative, but your journal page looks fabulous and your cards are a delight to see! Annette #1 for the first time in 4 years!

  20. Your journal spread is divine. I totally understand the heat. It's hot here, too. And it will stay hot until mid to late September. I know how hard it is to craft when all you want to do is get cool.

Your cards are gorgeous and I agree with you about the stencils. Although I'm not really a stamper, I've tried to use stencils years ago and you have to have the right "paint" for them. And you need a stencil brush, and . . . . Well, you get the picture. Happy belated WOYWW from #2.

  21. Lovely art work both in your journal and for your cards, but such a sad job to make bereavement cards.
Hope Anna had a lovely Saints/name day and your simple modern card is so striking for her.
Hope we can chat tomorrow... will try skype around 7pm.
    Lots of love Jo x

  22. Love your creative cards...I simply cannot do less is more. I always add more. :). Had some losses here, too. So Sympathy cards have been on my posts lately. I guess it's a good idea to have a small stash available. Have a wonderful week! Dawn #146.

  23. Journal too huh? My word you are evolving into an artist without doubt. Love all the cards too - it's hard to motivate yourself after a long day at work when the temperature doesn't change much in the evenings huh. Stencils are on their second round of popularity since I got involved in paper crafting..although now they're all plastic so much cheaper and more accessible...I truly believe there's nothing new, it's all just re-made, re-packaged and re-marketed!

  24. Hi Dolores
What do you mean you aren't in an arty mood..... All looks pretty good and arty to me. I never thought of making black and white for sympathy but they work really well.
Really late as blogging on my phone is very slow
    Thanks for the hug
