WOYWW, A messy desk and 2 Bday card!

Hello my dear friends!

I was away last Wednesday as I had to take my mom to the hospital as she had a check up on her healing and I am very happy to say she is much better - she was actually told she doesn't need crutches anymore unless she walks a very long distance! Also her arm has healed well so all in all she is ok and I think she is very happy about it! I think the thought that she would have to go into a home really scared her so she did all she could to make herself better! I spent the whole weekend there - we went shopping, she had a new ID card made (as she will be 80 on Saturday!)  and I cleaned the house for her so she is ok for a while!
As you are now updated with all the goings on here in Cardarian's land I will now show you my messy desk!
What you are looking at is an already half tidyed up desk - I had a 15X15 cm space to make my card - I think I have some illness called messinitis as I can never have a nice and clean tidy desk!

I will tell you a secret  - I have gone absolutely mad about dies! I am just so in love with the Memory Box ones but also others - they are so intricate and versatile you can do all sorts with them! So you will probably see quite a few cards with these dies on my blog in the next months! Of course I haven't stopped doing stamping - I also love rubber! Oh well to be honest I love everything crafty! I think that is the reason I can not decide on any style! I like to do all sorts - I would be bored with just one technique for the rest of my life! Here is one of my latest creations - I used a few dies a stencil and an embossing folder of course you can't make a card without a bit of TH DI and my newest toy the Wink of Stella pen - love it!

Here you can see that lovely shine from the Wink of Stella pen...

This card was made for a friend of mine who's birthday is today - she already recieved the card so I am ok to show it...
Next is a card I did with more stamping - I have combined two stamps and I really like the outcome and also dies and flowers which I jazzed up with a bit of gold color - this was a card for another one of my friends....

I now have to put on my thinking cap and make a really nice card for my moms 80th! You will see that soon...
I hope you have all heard about this mad thing that goes on somewhere in England - people congregate and show their messy desks! The leader of all this madness is a lady called Julia at Stamping Ground  - go over there and see what it is!
My dear friends I wish you all a lovely week
Lots of hugs to you,
Cardarian

  5. Happy WOYWW. Glad your mum is on the mend. From personal experience I know that it is such a stressful time. Love both cards, but the stamping on the 2nd one really caught my eye. Ali x. #47

  6. You have made my day saying that your mum is much better and on the mend. I think it would be really scary to hear you might be going into a home, I would get myself sorted out regardless too. 80 is no young effort, my dad is nearly 81 and fighting fit with a Slovenian girlfriend too, go figure. I so love your cards, but that Gold card is brilliant, I love everything about it. Glad to hear too that you are enjoying dies, they sort of sneak up on you and then take over your life, so be careful. Hope you have a wonderful week and give your mum our love.

    Happy WOYWW

  19. Relief about your dear Mum..so glad she's as good as recovered, and no doubt as she's an independent woman, going without the crutches will be great for her. Less worry all round huH! Lovely lovely cards gal, I have no idea what the Wink of Stella pen is..and I hardly dare look for fear of needing one!!

  20. I was thrilled to read about the good news you shared about your mother. That was fabulous.

I admit, I don't understand a messy desk, but I know some people just don't feel right unless their desk is filled to the brim and everything is within easy reach.

I adore both your cards. The embossed one with the lilies of the valley is stunning. I was bowled over by it.

I used to have that lady stamp, but I loaned it to a friend and she "lost" it. No big deal, though, because I never got it to work well for me. But you made it work for you by overlapping the other stamp with it. Well, well done.

Thanks for visiting me already because I'm so late my number has changed from 16 to 13.

  22. Well done for all your creativity and beautiful results. It is part of the creative process to make a mess and people who don't make a mess, don't make anything!! Mind you, some people DO TIDY UP!! Heh, he!
    Hope to see/speak tonight,
    love Jo x
