WOYWW, I am back with cards!

Hello my dear bloggy friends!

I have been away from WOYWW for a very long time...I think it is the longest I have been away from blogging since I started! There have been many reasons I was away - between work, trying to sort out my pension, my mom being ill, and a tragedy that has struck our family recently - my moms brothers house burned down and my auntie died in the fire - my uncle has now been left without a wife, a home and everything really at the age of 88! How sad is that? On top of all these things my health hasn't been very well and my DBF has been suffering with bad pains in his knee! I will be honest I could some Wednesdays write the WOYWW post but I know I couldn't come back to any of you kind people that comment because I am just so busy so week after week it was the same! I hope that after all these bad times things can now just go to better - I am still an optimist! I hope I will be able to resume my regular blogging!
So what have I been making all this time I have been away you ask??? Lots and lots of cards! Actually sometimes I think that is what keeps me going.....My desk at the moment is very clean - I mean clear as I cleaned it yesterday after I made a card for my friend Donna from Doings of Doone. She won't be looking at my blog because she will be away this week so I can show the card!

It is made with all the "elements" of  "modern cards" - bits of paper - some was from a paper pad some I made myself, then there is vellum, sequins and die cuts! It is hard to decide when to stop adding things - maybe I went to far with the embellishments but I wanted it to be a happy card!
These are photos from my phone so not very good but I have a few taken with my proper camera you will get to see them too...
So this is something I made for my boss who has celebrated her 10th anniversary working in our library -  I made this wall hanging for her to remember .....we are librarians so books in piles are a must! :-)

Here is a card I made for somebodies 50th birthday...a friend of mine asked me to make it....

My boss also got married this spring so I made a card for her wedding - I used a Julie Nutting doll stamp and then "dressed" her up as a bride - I really liked that card - one of the nicest I have made this year....

The picture isn't very good here is a close up.....

and the dress.....

So that was the wedding card and now I will just show you 2 more....one I made for my nephew - he is into trains and it was his birthday......

And here is one of my Easter cards.... I will show more of them every day this week....

This is not a card but it is a photo I took today in our faculty garden and I just love that sun shining on those bright yellow flowers.....

Have a lovely week and I will try to get to as much of you as possible! I better sign up soon  at Queen Julias headquarters now otherwise the clock will strike midnight and I will turn in to a mouse.....
Love and hugs to all of you...

  2. Res te že dolgo ni bilo in sem te pogrešala. Po vsem tem kar si zapisala, upam, da gredo svari na bolje in želim, da ostanete močni. Čas veli rane, čeprav so hude.
Lepo, da si vmes tudi ustvarjala, saj so voščilnice naravnost čudovite. Lep pozdrav!

  5. G’day Dolores
I haven’t participated in WOYWW for maybe 9 months and I am trying to get to as many as I ca. So sorry to hear of your bad news there and I do hope all starts to improve soon! Yes creating is the perfect distraction and cures many many heart aches. All your cards are divine but I adore STEAMPUNK and love the steampunk ones best.
    hugs

  7. Oh bless you - what a dreadful time you have had. I think we should have a special * that means "I am linking up with WOYWW because I need my friends but won't be able to reply." That way we can all pop over and cheer you up. So glad you have been able to make those beautiful cards - it does us good to craft in times of stress, I think. Hugs x Jo

  8. You poor thing, that is a lot for one person's dish to hold. My deepest sympathy to your uncle, so, so sad.

On the brighter side those are some gorgeous cards you have made.

    Glad your back

  9. Hi Dolores, our hearts go out to you, for all the tragedy. So good you have managed to find some peace for yourself in crafting. Beautiful cards, all of them. Your yellow flowers- Dandelions we call them, are beautiful, aren't they? Everyone sees it as a weed, but all the insects adore them. Have a great week, Hugs Shaz #44 xxx
