WOYWW, A mini book

Hello my dear friends!

How are you all today?? Enjoying the last bits of the Olympics??? Is your weather still hot or is it cooling down a bit??? Well we are still in the hotter area of Europe but I must admit for the last 2 days we have had it a bit cooler....just around 28 deg C during the day!
So what is going on at Cardarian's happy place??? A lot of physio - I got given another 2 weeks of it! I am happy to have it but it is very tiring - especially because it is now more individual excercises and those physiotherapists really suck the life out of you! Ha, ha....still I am improving my walking - still on crutches but not as painful as it was before!
Update on crafting - it was my daughters birthday this week and as lovely Donna from Doings of Doone has made this video on how to make a mini book I thought that would be really a nice present for her so I did it! Of course I didn't have that tin that sticks to the fridge - my knee situation doesn't allow me to drive over to Ikea in Klagenfurt Austria where I could get one of those so I just made a box myself .......

As you can see I used one of Donnas new stamps from the Artistic Stamper (Mother and daughter) this heart actually folds open and inside I stamped the " you will always be a part of me" somehow I forgot to take a picture of the inside and because my DD has already taken her present I just can't do it now!
Anyway I will show you what a mess I made - my DBF said "how did 3 of you craft here the other week if you make such a mess yourself???" I guess we were a bit more organised.....so here it is the mess in all its glory -

Yes there is a box of biscuits on there but it is my DBF who eats them! Here is a shot from another angle....

And here are a few photos of the tiny book I made that caused all this mess......

I got one of those Sharpie pens from Jo from Jozart - love it! Thanks Jo! I used it a lot in this book!

So that is it - thank you to Donna who made the video - I am always happy to learn something new....and thank you to all of you that will come by and have a look at my desk! I try not to stay on the computer much as honestly I sometimes can't get out of the chair when I sit here too long ( that will probably happen now!)
I promise I will try to get round to as much of you as possible!
Lots of hugs and love to all of you...

WOYWW, what is a name day and my altered book cover!

Hello my dear friends !

I hope you are all well, happy with your athlets winning medals and coping with whatever weather you have! We are having another heatwave - 35 deg C during the day, but at the moment still about 20 deg C in the night so we are still able to have a good nights sleep!
I am faithfully going to physio every day - my knee is very slowly getting better but I am not where I would like to be yet! A bit impatient you see! :-)
Now as you all know today is the world blog hop guided by our lovely Queen Julia so hop along with us if you dare! ha, ha....show your very messy or very tidy desk!
Well I am more on the messy side because I started serious work on my altered book! When Donna and Jo were here we did 2 inside pages with a technique Donna showed us, so my altered book was sitting there for a while and my next move was gessoing the cover and spraying it with Dylusions and Perfect pearl mists!

Another week passed and today I got up to all the stamping

I decided on a child stamp for the front - symbolical of inocence - I am altering a book about the horrors of war and children suffer the most in wars...you can see it on the side there!

I painted the girl with Fresco finish paints and also Sennelier oil pastels - uuh I love them - I only have a few as they are so expensive, but they are worth every euro I payed for them.....

I stamped the girl on sticky canvas which I then stuck to the cover and added a few bits of lace, flowers and a very old ribbon I found in my sewing box - I think I am not finished yet but I couldn't think of what else to put on it! Oh yes I did put some Golden gold mica gel around the girl - it is absolutely fabulous in my opinion...

So that is my crafty bit.......next up WHAT IS A NAME DAY......well we are a Catholic country and when catholics are christened they are usually given a name after one of the saints - every day of the year a different saint is celebrated ( you have huge festivities in countries like Italy and Spain or even more so in South America) so the day  "your" saint is celebrated it is your NAME DAY! Recently on the 26th of July it was St. Anna day and on the 29th of July it was St. Martha! So there now that is cleared I hope!
Next is something I must share with you - how kindness is spread all over the world - a few weeks ago when I blogged about my knee operation a lady from Australia Eliza from Queenartoypia asked me for my address so she could send me a card and today came a lovely envelope with an amazing card inside and a beautiful set of Kaisercraft stamps ! THANK YOU SO MUCH ELIZA - it was a lovely surprise and I am sure my knee will heal much better now!!! Bloggers have a look at my lovely present........

So that is all I have to share for today, I know I am late but these days I am slow - I will come round to you eventually!
Love, hugs and good olympic spirits to all of you!

WOYWW, 3 cards

Hello my dear friends!

I am a bit late today - it is now a bit hectic here at the Cardarian house especially as I started physio this week! It is quite intense so I get really tired but at least I have a bit of the morning when I do my crafting! This time photos from my actual desk - I was crafting inside as we had a bit of rain last night! Sunny and warm now though! I guess all you girls and boys in England are happy to finally have some sunshine! ;-)
So to keep this to the point....here is my desk....
Left side pretty tidy ...not...... I must get a new pot for those pens and pencils - I can't possibly jam anymore in there...you can see some of Lawn Fawn string - embossing powder I used for cards I have been making and leftover paper I have colores with Dylusions.....

and here is the right side....stuff just piled up.....card, stamps, beads and other very useful junk.......

to show off that I have not been lazy even though my knee hurts here are some cards I have made recently...
This one is for my DBFs daughter - it is her birthday soon so this one is traveling to England....I used Hero Arts stamps and my new lovely summer Distress Inks.....

This one is for my mom - it will be her name day end of the month ( Martha) so this one is for her.... I have used a Crafty individuals stamp, various DPs and  some Flower Soft for the flower - I put some crystal beads on there just for the fun of it.....

And this one is for my daughter - her name day is tomorrow ( Anna) - she says I use too much pink on my cards so I made one for her with no pink......that butterfly is orange - it is the one I took off the latest Craft Stamper...the background was made with Dylusions I used 2 different embossing powders - the stamps are Hero Arts, a bit of raffia ( I am not sure that is the English word but that is the thing with the bow that looks like straw) and some Lawn Fawn twine...

So there - that is my "desk" for today - have a good snoop - I will be coming to see you later!
Lots of hugs to all of you

WOYWW and a Disc -o - doll

Hello my dear friends!

First big apologies for not coming round to much of you - the reason is my knee is still hurting so I try to be good and stay away from the computer! I hope this pain goes away soon  I was hoping for a quicker healing but obviosly it takes longer or am I just very impatient?????
Anyway thank you for all the lovely get well wishes - they all help and make me happy!
So what have I been doing whilst my leg is sitting on a pillow or a chair??? I didn't do much crafting but I can show off a disc - o - doll I have made! I was looking at the lovely doll Donna made and wondering if I could make something like a doll myself!  I was reading a very old 2002 Stampers Sampler and I found these disco - dolls in there - made with a CD! I thought to myself " oh that will be easy I can make that! " Yeh well I could make it but it wasn't easy - took me all day and you will see what a mess I made on my terrace - just to make a doll ( my DBF says it isn't even a doll it is a humpty dumpty - huh that boost my confidence!)
Ok then prepare your snooping machines (eyes) and wizz around my desk which is not my desk really but my terrace table! Lunch Lady Jan do you see where your bunting is proudly displayed????
So my "desk".....

my desk when the doll was in the making....

more mess to be seen......

and finally my disc - o - doll.....

I used elements from Dylusions stamps but also a stamp from Alpha stamps - says ART for her hair - used some Bo Bunny DP and copics and stickles to glam her up.....this is the disc side but I made another side too....on this side I covered the cd and added some buttons  - also stickles!

Another look at my WOYWW....

If you want more of a snoop - if you haven't worn out your "snooping machine" get over to our HQ where Queen Julia will show you to more snoopy sites.....
Lots of hugs to all
Cardarian
PS.: Donna and Jo as you can see there are 2 chairs free waiting for you to come and craft with me....it is just 29 deg C today so ideal for crafting...:-)

WOYWW, a lovely week with friends and an op!

Hello my dear friends!

I haven't been active much as I had my knee operated on Sunday, just a day after my visitors left! I am doing ok - knee still hurts and it is swollen but if I will be a good girl, put ice on my knee and keep it up on a pillow I hope it will be better soon!
Here is a post op photo of my knee

and another one - they drill two holes in your knee and clean out all the stuff that has broken off - looks simple but I don't think it is....

So to be honest I haven't done any crafting although I have been reading crafty books I got from Donna and Jo!

I loved the time I spent with Jo and Donna - it was the first time I sat down with crafters and had a right good chinwag about crafty things - also they have brought me so much lovely crafty stuff and taught me sooo much I am really grateful for everything - I had a lovely time and I hope they enjoyed the time here even though it was "stoncking" hot ha, ha.....we also had a good talk about personal things in our lives and I think our bonds are firm and nothing can break them! My love to both you girls!!
I will show you stuff I have done last week and my gifts.....

Here is a book we started making I haven't finished mine yet but as soon as this knee gets better I will be crafting away....we learned how to do backgrounds with starch spray and cling film....

As you can see I got the lovely new summer seasonal distress inks....YIPEEEEEEE!!!!!!! Thank you Jo!!!

Donna made me this gorgeous elephant - I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! It is right in front of my desk when I craft so Donna I will be looking at it all the time....

Look at this butterfly - one Jo gave me - beautiful.....

Here are is just a box full of various things I now have for my crafting - soooo happy....

Here is a page in my altered book that I have started I made under Donnas supervision....I don't know if the lovely layers of color and modelling paste will show but it is amazing I am telling you.....

and as last a photo of all three of us .....

Have a lovely week and a good snoop around the desks of the world - I will try to join you as much as I can but doctors orders is not much time on the computer!!!
Love and hugs to all of you...
