Hello and a very good day to everybody!
We are having a cold -12 deg C morning but the sun is coming out and we will probably get up to -5 deg C during the day! My poor mom had - 20 deg C !!!! It is Cultural Day in Slovenia - I think none of the European countries celebrates culture as we do - actually having a holiday! I guess the fact that we are such a small nation (only 2 million of us) makes us very protective of our culture! There is a big up rise at the moment because the cultural ministry has been incorporated in some other ministry but I think that as long as they still support culture it doesn't matter if there is a minister there or not! What is Cultural Day? On this day our biggest poet France Prešeren died and to honor him and all the people who work and contribute to our culture we celebrate this day with free concerts, theater plays, museum and art galleries are all open free to the public today, there are lots of literature evenings with various authors and poets! So a fun holiday! And here is the man we owe it all to - France Prešeren!
So I thought I would say something about that but now we are back to the usual WOYWW business.... I think this past week should have a speeding ticket! It went so fast I just can't believe we are back on Wednesday again! Huh! I was working a lot at work but also squeezed a bit of crafting in!
So lets start with the big mess on my desk which didn't come from me doing crafting but it came from me trying to find something that was in the deep depths of a corner on my shelf.....
All I wanted was to get that box out where I have some little ink pads which I wanted for my LIM card....
That is the desk bit now I have a few things to show....This week I have been making a sort of "liquorice allsorts"..... I have been dabbling with different styles.....first up is my LIM card....very simple....I stamped with my small ink pad, then quickly covered the ink with clear embossing powder so I don't just have the color aqua but also the effect of aqua.....
Then I made a card for Fashionable Stamping Challenges where the challenge is Make it a guy thing! I must admit this is not much stamping - most of it is collaged from a Graphic 45 paper pad but still I like this guy....
And as last something I have put a lot of effort in .....a Valentines card for my DBF...
I started off with the background, gessoed, painted over with red and gold GOLDEN paint...then I stamped the cages with a Prima stamp. I die cut the TH Birdcage heat embosssed with gold embossing powder - did all the jewelry bits - I also die cut a heart which you can see in the cage - I covered that with clear embossing powder to give it a bit of a shine! I added the die cut locket and a bit of bling! The sentiment is computer generated....huh - even writing about it took a while....anyway here it is....( I went out on the terrace on -12 deg C to take this picture)
here is some detail.....
So now I am finished - I hope you all have a good snoop and be sure I will be snooping around too!
Lots of hugs to everybody
Cardarian
