WOYWW, English weather and some new stuff!

Good morning to all !

How are you all today? Getting ready for yet another wet and windy day? Or enjoying a warm sunny morning? I came back from England last night after a cold, windy and wet weekend! We went to Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire for the 50th Anniversary of the first MGB - my DBF has owned MGs practicly since he was young and we belong to the Maidstone MG owners club! So us petrol heads headed of to Oxfordshire on Saturday morning - it was sunny and bright but unfortunately on the way there were a few accidents so we were queuing up for hours - we finally arrived to our destination - a nice little town called Burford, had a good pub meal and stayed in a Travel Lodge for the night! Next morning we woke up to a very grey and miserable morning but it was still dry so after breakfast we drove off to Blenheim palace! It was a really big event, MGs from all over the country have gathered but after an hour or so it started chucking it down with rain and it rained and it poured.....so I didn't go into Blenheim Palace - there were big queues to get in and I can't stand on my feet for long ( my knee and ankle still not ok) but I stayed around the car and took a few photos before it started pouring so much we had to get into the car....I am really sorry for the organizers who have put so much effort in the organization and people were leaving after an hour! We toughed out for 3 hours but with the field getting weter and weter we finaly gave up!
So to get back to the point of the WOYWW - I have nothing new that I would make but I have new stuff on my desk - some new art moulds I just got and my new Donna stamps from The Artistic Stamper! Yipeeeee! I have an idea what I will do with them but I will show that sometime during the week when I get up to it! I must apologise to all the ladies who visited me last week - I just ran out of time - I was working long hours and then had to pack and I have been away all weekend - came home last night! Will visit you all today and tomorrow! So after all that chat finally here is the picture of my desk......

I will also bore you with a few photos from my travel.....lunch at this lovely pub....

getting into Blenheim palace.....

The club gang getting ready for a stroll around the site....

me in front of my DBFs MG.....I had about 4 layers of clothes under that coat.....

I was more interested in the amazing colors of the cars then the actual engines....

And I thought this one was very cute.....

That is it - if you have toughed it out till now I wish you all a lovely day and now that I am settled back home I will be with you soon!

Lots of hugs to all

  5. Still rainy here in the good old NW of England. Am sure you have heard that lots of places are on flood alert and some are flooded. Poor folks.
Love the MG pictures and I love the eyelash one too - saw one in a local car park (car not MG) with eyelashes and an eyeball on top of the radio stick thingy with them too. Great - obviously belongs to a female!
    Look forward to your crafting.
Thanks for sharing, Hugs, Neet #5 xx

  6. Ooooh - you were over here and you'll be back again! Am doing a very happy dance at the prospect of meeting up with so many folks, though I think Donna and Jo are going to lead me astray before we even get to the crop.... Hehehehe Looking forward to seeing you soon!

  7. We must have been the only ones in the country to enjoy a HOT beautifully sunny day last Saturday in Staffordshire. We've made up for it since and now you know why the English always talk about the weather!
I'd love to have seen those MGs and I saw a white one too with eyelashes but it also had a pink lipstick mouth!!!!
Will try for a skype later about 6pm UK time. I have never found you on line each time I go to skype so hope we're lucky. So excited about the WOYWW fest visit!
    Not long now...

  9. I'm like you, I would be more interested in the looks of the cars rather than the engines, and the eyelashes on the white car are very cute! Sorry you got rained out, that's a bummer, but it sounds like you still had a good time! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

  12. My brother lives about 5 miles away from Burford - it's my favourite little town in the Cotswolds! The rain has got worse since you left! There's been terrible flooding in some areas....
I'm sooo looking forward to seeing you on the 13th!! I can't believe you're coming all that way to see us!! It's going to be fun! Does your DBF need any advice for going to see stuff that day? There's quite a lot of things to see!

  13. Sounds like you had a fun mini-holiday in spite of the rain. I wish we could get some of it over here cause the water rationing is still on and the ponds and reservoirs are down so far they are having filtering problems! Have a great week and thanks for stopping by! Vickie #87

  21. ah new stamps, Delores - what fun! Not the rain thought - what a disappointment... and Blenheim palace too - it is so lovely you will have to go back another time - went on a day trip there when in UK 2009 and it was lovely day - great time had by all and as on tour you get straight in. Thanks so much for sharing ~ happy WOYWW! Shaz in Oz. x #21

  22. What a shame about the weather. It has improved in the last couple of days.

  23. I can see why you liked to look at the colours there are many different ones. I really like the one with the eyelashes. I always wanted an MGB from when I was little and it had to be candy apple red.

Happy WOYWW sorry I am really late this week.
