Good morning dear bloggy friends!
I hope you are all warm and safe...we have had a mixture of snow and rain these last days, so wet and dull most of the days, not very uplifting! I haven't started this year very well healthwise.....after a cough ( that is still not gone) now my knee is playing up again ( I am using a stick now!) I don't feel very optimistic! Still as I lay in bed most of the days after coming back from work my mind is constantly thinking about art! I haven't started on my art journal or altered book yet but I have written down a lot of ideas in my little notebook and watched all the Creative Jumpstart videos, so I think there will soon be an explosion of lovely stuff on my desk!
I am still keeping up the "1 Christmas card a week" thing - sometimes I make 2!Last week I showed you my moms card that I sent her for her birthday and she really liked it saying that that card was the most beautiful one I ever sent her - now that was worth a lot as my mom very rarely praises any of my work! I must thank you all for all the good wishes for her birthday - she was soo surprised but I told her " mom this bunch of people are the best" and it is true!!!
Anyway before I show my desk I must show you something else! Yesterday evening when I came home I went to take out all the mail and I found a package there from JOZART!!! I took it up to my flat and here is what was inside - a lovely gift for me and my mom!! THANK YOU JO !!! It is so beautiful and when I read the prayer my eyes were filled with tears! Lovely, lovely lovely!!!
These are the little gifts.....
and this is what you find inside.....
I will send it to my mom today...THANK YOU SO MUCH JO! IT REALLY MEANS A LOT TO ME!!!!
And now my desk - another mess - well I decided to make an Easter card and started off with some acrylic paint and some drops that I made intentionally - it is all over the art world these days so I thought I would give it a go! The card is far from finished but I know what I want to do and I will show it when it will be finished...
Here is a close up.....
The lovely flourish stamp is from Lost Coast Designs.....
Lately I have been hording a lot of stamps and other stuff which I forgot to take a photo of but I will in the next few days - hopefully my health will improve!
I haven't come round to all of you who have commented although I did try....I will try to do better this week!
We are suppose to be on strike today - I am against it as a strike will not get our country out of the crisis but I guess people don't get that, so the whole of the public sector is not working! Eh well!I guess the union bosses have to earn what they are very well payed for!! Huh!!!
Have a lovely day! I will be around your desks to see what is new in your little crafty world! If you still haven't heard about this thing that goes on every Wednesday (WOYWW) go on to our HQ where Queen Julia rules!
Lots of hugs to all of you,
CARDARIAN

Well, I sure hope you are feeling better soon! Coughs are so hard to get rid of, not sure why they linger on for as long as they do. I have bad knees too so I can relate to the pain you're having! ReplyDeleteOh Dolores am so sorry to read that your knee is troubling you, that and a cough that won't go is enough to put you off feeling like doing anything. I love the card, those formal swirls and then the rebellious spots of ink, it looks marvellous. Keep warm and look forward.XXX

I hope your knee settles down...I know it can be so painful to walk.
ReplyDeleteIs it a torn meniscus? I had arthoscopic surgery for that a few years ago and was walking (gingerly) a few hours later. It was swollen 3x the normal size but it gradually went down and had no more excruciating pain...just bruised and swelling pain which is good pain cuz it goes away.
If it is meniscus trouble I pray you will get some relief friom a surgery like that.
Your card is gorgeous. I haven't tried the splatteres yet but I love the look of it.
Lovely parcel from Jo...very touching!
Hullo there Delores,

Thanks for the little update abut your knee...my heart goes out to you...I have used a stick at times and it is not fun...Your back and shoulder can get sore from bending a bit to use it:(
ReplyDeleteI am on a wait list for full knee replacement too...but luckily for me, mine does not hurt very much anymore...the pills I take for my back are making the pain in my knees under control.
I will pray that you get some relief as I know it must be hard to work and walk when you are in such pain!
Congrats on meeting your resolutions...your ideas to box up smaller things in your room are great...no more falling itens! Good ideas!
A Xmas card a week is a great goal! If we do it, we will be relaxing in Dec, having a relaxed. carefree buildup to Christmas...teeheehee
