Dear friends!
A hello and big hug to all of you! It is a virtual hug so don't worry about the virus! I have been silent for almost a year and now I have finally got back the courage and will to write and post a blog! These are weird times and I have been through a lot this year. Still I am alive and well, so is my partner Alan. I have been swimming almost every day until this virus came along and just as I should have finally got my knee operation it was cancelled thanks to COVID 19! And who knows when I will get it now. Hay ho, that is life. I don't want to complain as hearing about all the deaths and people suffering every day you would be really ungrateful as you are still healthy and sitting in your craft room making cards or whatever takes your fancy! So coming to the point of crafting and WOYWW I must say although I haven't been blogging a lot has been going on in my craftroom! I have made and am still making lots of cards - made a few changes to my craft room and although I have tons of crafty stuff I am still buying new things - it is a disease I just can't stop myself!
So lets first have a look at my desk .....
As you can see on the first and second photo I have bought this MDF storage system for my distress ink pads and reinkers - I actually colored them with distress oxide sprays and then filled them up with all my inkpads sorted by color. Proud of that achivement..
On the photo above you can see I also have the Tim Holtz glass media mat! I was not sure about it at first but I like it because at least a little bit of my desk stays clean and ready for me to make things..well lets be honest I still sometimes end up with about a 5 inch square of space to work on but what can I do?!? I am a messy crafter!
Here are a few of the cards I have made as of lately.....various techniques using inlays, stencils, die cuts and watercolors. I am trying to experiment with everything.
I saw the challenge that Queen Julia has given us for our 11th anniversary (although being away for a year am I still on 10?!?) and I think I have a few projects in various envelopes, bags and boxes that need finishing so I think I will have a go at it!
I am really happy to be back in the community of my lovely crafty friends! I will try to visit all your desks and say hello! I just got a cup of tea on my desk from my Alan so I am ready to have a snoop around the desks!
Love and hugs to all, glad to be back!

Good to see you here again Dolores. Sorry that your op has had to be cancelled. It must be most frustrating to be in pain. Love the cards and the new storage. I have something similar for all my Oxides and ink pads. Look forward to seeing what you finish for the anniversary. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #5
ReplyDeleteDolores! How fab to see you on the desks again, I've missed you. That's just so annoying about getting your operation date and then Covid happens, you're very philosophical about it, but there's no point getting stressed. You're doing great in your craft room and those cards are lovely!
ReplyDeleteHugs LLJ 12 xx
How lovely to have been supplied with a cuppa whilst popping along to see what's on our workdesks, well done on making it back it can be hard when away for so long but there is always a very warm welcome. Beautiful cards and yes the black TH glass mat does make our desks look much cleaner. Thanks for sharing WoywW stay safe & creative Tracey #6

ReplyDeleteLove to see you again Dolores, it is ne ver a year since you were here! It is almost a year since I saw you at the last crop - no chance this year with the virus about. Still we can keep in touch with the internet and our crafting.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your busy desk - my your haul has grown - and thanks for showing us the lovely cards
Stay safe and well - Hugs, Neet 4 xx
Hello there! I love the peep at your desk and those cards are gorgeous! Stay safe and well, with love and God Bless, Caro xxx (#17)
ReplyDeleteHi Dolores, so lovely to see you again. Happy to hear you & Alan are both well, but very annoying about your surgery. So many beautiful cards you've made! I still can't decide if I like my TH glass mat or not. I like it for ease of cleaning, but I get so many reflections on it, it's made taking step by step photos much harder! Have a lovely week, stay safe, Hugs, Shaz #8 X
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. Sorry to hear about the cancelled op. Take care and have a lovely belated woyww, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteOh Dolores - how lovely to see you here this week. That's just great. Glad you are able to dip in and out as there is no pressure. I love the cards there on show - and clever you - all those inks so neatly displayed now!! I do hope you may soon hear about your knee op - I seem to remember it wasn't good the last time I saw you at the crop... that WAS last year, wasn't it? Sorry you have been through a lot in the past year - I do hope some of it was good. Glad too, that Alan is well. Give him my best wishes.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourselves. Stay safe. God bless.

I was absent for a year too and a year before that as well! LOL I don't have the purchasing craft bug anymore, although the Bible Journalling has lead to a few purchases. Lovely cards, busy bunny.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit and sorry I'm so late replying BJ#2
Hi Cardarian - welcome back after your long break away from us all! Lovely to see you back. It looks as if you haven't let the grass grow under your feet! I love the MDF storage for your distress inks - I've wanted something for mine but they remain in 2 (now 3, with the distress oxides) Really Useful Boxes and I have to rummage... Your desk looks amazing and I love all the cards you've made too. My hubby gave me a glass media mat for Christmas and I love it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting, and I'm glad you enjoyed my various projects. I usually do something about food in my weekly posts. For nearly a year now I have been whole-food plant-based and have been exploring loads of new ideas for really tasty and nutritious food. After losing over 4 stone on the 5:2 diet over several years, I am now maintaining a healthy weight, eating as much as I like! It's great. I can't imagine going back to meat now.
I am sorry to hear your operation was cancelled. I am also due to have surgery but have no idea now when it's going to happen - I got lost in the system and wasted about 4 months waiting to hear, and was then told the waiting list was 9 months. It certainly won't be happening this year now, that's for sure. At least I'm not in pain! As you say, there's always someone worse off than oneself anyway.
Happy belated WOYWW,
