WOYWW, 4th August 2010

Good morning dear friends!

Ready for another snoop at Queen Julias castle??? Well lets se what you all have on your messy or tidy desks!
As for me - I am the messy one today! I was doing a card last night for my friend (strangely July and August are very busy for me, all the birthdays and name days and whatever other days there are to celebrate of my relatives and friends,  seem to be crammed into these 2 months)  and as I bought some new mesh I wanted to use it on the card no matter what!!! How stupid am I ??  It didn't work out very well and as usuall I made a mess of my desk so when  I needed to cut some paper this morning I had to go to the kitchen table to do it! It was quite dark this morning as we had rain all night and it was cloudy so I am not sure the photos will be ok but anyway have a snoop!
Here is the middle of the desk.....

A pile of various papers - I couldn't decide what I want, then there is this paper I use when I distress - varios colors on it! Glue, punch, glasses ( I can't do anything without them these days - my eyes are really bad!) the famous mesh and a piece of paper where I printed out the happy birthday in varios fonts and on top of the papers the card...
Swing to the right.....not a very good photo....

More papers and my bag of foams - I use them instead of those fancy blending tools - they work ok - I write the name of the ink I use on the foam so they don't get mixed up!
Swing to the left..... the usual junk with a  box of sweeties - I better stop buying those, but it is so nice to be crafting and munching on some sweets - YUMM!

And here is the card I made.....

I am not sure if I like it - I feel like something is missing! Or maybe there is too much on it ....I don't know....

And just to add something to yesterdays post about my flowers yes Anne (Liverpool Lou) you were right the plant I couldn't remember was Hosta and here is a photo I took of them right after the rain so there are all rain drops on it - lovely flowers though!

Have a lovely day, have a lovely snoop and I will be coming round to see what ya got!
Hugs to all of you,
Cardarian

  4. I have some of those same hostas in my front yard. I love them.

Glad to see someone who saves a bit of money by not needing those stamping thingies. I thought your sponges worked perfectly. It seems they would be a real space saver, too. Happy WOYWW and your great messy desk today.

  9. I think your card is lovely - but I hate that 'not quite right'feeling too, how about a little row of small gems or glitter dots in one of the top corners to balance all the lovelyness that's in the bottom half..(hope you don't mind me suggesting - it is lovely as it is)...Happy WOYWW Esther x

  32. gorgeous colours on the card, I would just add a set of 3 gems or pearls in the bottom right corner or the top left.

I have hostas too, that is when the slugs and snails leave them alone, mostly I just have a stump with eaten leaves hanging off it.
